Does AEV use the 360 5.7L HEMI MPI crate engine available from Mopar or do they pull engines from vehicles that came from the factory with HEMI engines already installed?
To me, the 5.7L HEMI found in the Dodge Ram looks different from the crate engine HEMI Chyrsler sells. I'm surprised it fits and I've noticed the difference in price. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The Crate engines are set up for installation into older vehicles. If you had a CJ or a YJ, thats the one you would want. AEV only uses producition powertrains so in the TJ we use the Doge Ram / Durango set up and in the JK we use the Grand Cherokee / Commander setup.

Dave,
First, thanks for the prompt response! That's excellent! My first biggest issue was in making sure my Jeep is 50 state street legal. Those crate engines are not street legal. I spoke to another recently popular offroad shop located in Burnsville, MN regarding this engine swap and "Dan" was not very supportive.
My TJ has the stock D44 rear axle, will it be able to handle the engine torque or will I need to upgrade the axle shafts (superior 35 axle shafts) before having AEV do the swap? And while I'm swapping out axle parts, would a gear swap be necessary too?
Thanks again!

Depends on how you drive it. Normally the 44 has been holding up fine if your right foot is connected to your brain and you're not running huge tires. I run 37s on two of mine with the Rubicon 44s and they have been fine, but then again, I don't do a lot of stuff where there is a lot of throttle in the rocks. Its just not what the wheeling is like here. My Brute has a 60 in the rear and also has been just fine.
