Looks good. I can't wait to get my JK so I can get the hood as well. Until then I will be jealous.

UAE JK - are you somebody I know? :D

Love AEV's hood on my TJ... if I got a JK I'd definitely do the same again. Works great in the heat in our part of the world :)

Will the Hoodlift product work with the AEV Heat Reduction Hood?

I was wondering this myself as most dealerships aren't too careful when working on our Jeeps, and could dent / scratch the hood. This may help to prevent this.

Hey Hey, I'm always careful with hood props.:D

Hood lift seems to work fine with the hood. The UAJK has one and I know Dave sent the weight of the AEV hood to Hoodlift. The AEV Hood is about 30% heavier than stock. Its been gauged up to 1mm thick inner and outer, vs the OE 0.7mm.

I don't know what the weight difference is on the TJ version - but I love my AEV TJ Hood + Hoodlift Combo. :)

Any idea how the heat reduction hood would go with the Diesel version of the JK?

I think I heard/read that you can not put the windshield down with this hood? Please confirm. What would happen if you did (assuming I added the bumpers and loop myself?). Would it just sit higher?

I believe that the hump in the center actually would be taking all of the weight, unlike the stok hood which spreads it across the entire hood. I know AEV didn't design the hood with the intent of folding the windsheild down.

Yeah, because most people don't fold the windshield anyway.

well, you know what they say about Blondes....:)

Seriously though, we don't recommend lowering the windscreen with the AEV hood. In fact the hoods are made without the holes for the rubber bumpers. The gals above obviously drilled a hole prior to paint for the rubber bumpers and test fit it first.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive a Jeep. I doubt it was moving for the picture, but I don't see the hood bumpers, or the tie down strap.
