Yea I ordered from Northridge a week ago also. Spoke with David and he said it would leave today. We'll see what happens, hopefully I get it before Thanksgiving...

I've got the 3.5" with 35s. I think you'd have to go even bigger with the 4.5" to look proportional.

Sweet rig Chickenhawk7!

I'm curious... how much clearance do you have in the front from tire to flare?

Thanks

I ordered a 3.5" lift over 3 weeks ago. I was told that it is backordered and expected in early February. I don't know if I am tied up in the same backorder as you were involved in in November, but it is backordered now.

I've talked to a guy running 37" KM2's on the 3.5" lift... Just thought I'd add that to the considerations of how small 35's on the 4.5 would look.

How 35" tires will look depends a lot on how your Jeep is equipped. If you have extra weigh in the form of bumpers, winch, lights, tire carrier, full spare, etc, it will look fine.

However if you are running stock weight, the 4.5" lift may provide more lift than you would like.

Just keep in mind if you are upgrading from 33s to 35s, one day in the not too distant future you may want to upgrade to 37s. The 37s are ideally matched for clearance and appearance with the 4.5" as can be seen in the photo galleries. Larger tires and lift can be addicting. :D

Dave

I am planning on picking up the 3.5" lift when they are back in stock. Are these going to be coming with the OME stabalizer, or are they all now shipping with the silver one?

Just for reference, the guy I spoke with had the 37's on the 3.5" lift with AEV full setup and a full size spare. There's a pretty good bit of clearance with these lifts.

I've had mine on order since Nov 30, 2009 through Quadratec (shipped from AEV). First they told me 4 weeks because of the back order. After the xmas break they kept pushing the ship date back. The last I checked it was shipping 1st or 2nd week of Feb and now we're moving into the 3rd week. I called two days ago to check and Quadratec was going to check with AEV.... no one has called me back yet.

I was getting excited about doing a full AEV treatment - bumpers, hoods, etc etc... now I'm not even sure I want to deal with a company that can't give a firm ship date on a simple order like this. Frankly Im pretty disappointed with the level of communication. Maybe they're too complacent and starting to take the market for granted? Wouldn't be the first company to make a good product, have it take off, and then lose sight of the values that got them to where they were.

As you can tell. I'm kinda bummed. I expected more from AEV based on the hype.

Its been a major struggle for us too. We've had a lot of issues with our spring company, not entirely their fault either, they depend on suppliers too. Obviously we can only tell you the latest news at the time, so sometimes our sales guys will comunicate the latest news, only to have it change on them. Its a problem with every business.

The latest news is that the 4.5" kits are off backorder, springs came in last week and checked out to our specs. The newest 3.5" springs should ship to us next week, we'll need to test them to our specs and then we'll do our best to turn them around asap.

Sorry for your frustration, this is the stuff that keeps me up at nights :)

I'm sure the wait will be worth it

Do you know what steering stabalizer the 3.5" lifts will be shipping with? I have been just fine waiting to place my order since I have saved a bit of extra money I just need to decide between 35" tires and the rear bumper for when I get done with the lift.

OME Stabilizers, the Rubicon Express units didn't work for us and there were only a handful that shipped before we switched back.

Aev products are always worth a wait no matter how long that wait may be. Glad Aev switched back to OME steering stabilzers. Check out this write up (http://jptrails.com/archives/758).

Hi Dave, We appreciate the response, but TDS and Moab are getting very close. Nervous I will not have my lift and tire carrier in time... my spare tire can not be in the cargo area on a long trip; this is my biggest concern.

Hi Dave.
Appreciate the response and the reasons behind the delay. I hope the 3.5 springs test well and quickly as I (for one) can only wait to the first week of March. After that I'm going to have to move on.

My wife is an AEV fan for entirely different reasons than me. She loves the fact that I can not buy a new lift right now. She thinks I don't need it anyway. She is busy trying to spend our money on other things.

I will hold out for the lift and live with what I have for awhile... but I am hoping to have it before Moab, but I am concerned I will do without this year.

My wife loves AEV because Dave has a big mastif and she wants one. After that she will let me buy more stuff to help feed the dog.:D

I would hear nothing about new jeep stuff if I brought home another puppy, especially if it was a Mastif. One dog is enough, thanks anyway. I will listen to the complaining and remember not to bring the wife if/when I meet Dave and his dog.
