Hey everyone,

I just uploaded a news item about the Procal that includes a few interesting things we haven't mentioned yet. Nothing about the super secret easter egg - so don't ask ;) So a few things that didn't fit in the news item,

The video that the guys over at That's Awesome.Tv did is really really good. I can't believe they did it on their own and then didn't even try and sell it to us.

I was asked recently who developed the Procal for us and where it was made overseas because they wanted to buy it themselves. Sorry to dissapoint him, but proud to recalim that we design all of our own electronics and everything except the specific microchips and discrete parts are designed, made, assembled in the USA.

I've dealt with a situation this week where a customer bought a used Procal that both parties thought would work, although the module was actually still paired to another car. For this reason, we ask that anyone interested in buying a used Procal be very cautious as while it worked out fine this time, there are scammers out there, and we don't want to see anyone ripped off.
All Procal's work for 2010 models. The current box for the Procal does say 2007-2009 but new boxes are have the correct dates.

The most common problem I am seeing with Procal use is when users program tire size and then immediately start the vehicle. This will cause a temporarily unresponsive speedometer and a check engine light. To prevent this from happening: Make certain that any time the Procal is used, the Jeep is in ignition (one key click before Start), after the Procal honks the horn, that the car is shut off before the vehicle is started. If this has happened to you, the fix is easy, use the Procal to program a different tire size then the one you have, then use the Procal to program your correct tire size, and finally use the Procal to Clear DTC codes (consult the Quick Reference).

The second most common problem I am seeing is the TPMS. If you have programmed the Tire Pressure value to a lower number than the one you have but the light remains on know that the actual tire pressure must be at least 5psi above the programmed number and driven around before the light will shut off. This is difficult system to work with so if there are further questions, feel free to contact us.

So... I'm not sure if anyone will take me up on a Question and Answer offer, but I would be happy to answer any questions relating to the AEV EGR (Superlift WK/XK Suspension), or AEV Procal. Just ask as a reply to this thread.

Does the same senario comply with the gear ratio correction. 1 click before start and shut off and etc...

I used the Procal to adjust my gear ratio and same exact procedure applies.

The Procal has worked flawlessly for me.

Are you having an issue with this setting?

Well problem is I'm going from hypertec (not satisfied) to th procal.

I took of the program and a bunch of error codes. Dealership reset my ECU. everything was good.

Uses the procal, errors came back, ABS, speedo not working, mis fire code, etc...

So I'm stuck in a bind.

After reading this I gotta try it...Do I need to do this for each setting, back to back or setting drive setting drive?

You can make all changes before driving, but you are going to want to cycle the key each time, for example set speedo, turn key to off, turn key to one click before start, set gearing, turn key to off, turn key to one ckick before start, set daytime running lights.

I have one... currently, my JK is throwing a random code causing the MIL to illuminate.. I know what the problem is. the $1.25 seal is on order. I have been clearing the code using the procal til the part shows up (I clear it because its 20 degrees outside, and the OEM remote start will not function if there is a MIL)
Anyways, when I use ther ProCal to clear the code, the horn does not honk.. It takes me 2 or three tries to get it to clear.. I dont know if its the way im clearing the code (using the ProCal the same way I do everything else) or because the fault still exists and Im just masking it for 2 days at a time.

since my last post everything has worked great, speedo, gear ratio, TPMS.

But today and after 200-300 miles. i had another problem, while driving (65-70)speedo still working, but started losing power, mis firing (like timing was off), check engine light flashing.

I figured it was gear ratio setting, reset it 4 times on 90 mile drive home. would work for 10-15 miles then same problem, over and over.

Am i mssing something, battery has not been disconnected, no electrical has been tamper with. Only that i have done since was an oil change.

specifically the programming procedure is.

with key off, i notice there are two clicks before start.
fisrt i power eneabled
second , dash light turn on and chime.

which is it?
Next, plug in procal, horn honks twice.
turn off key
unplug procal

If anyone knows what in doing wrong let me know. Please!!
Also, Why would have worked for 200-300 miles before giving me problems?

I don't think yur problem has anything to do with the Procal. I think you have a problem. Hop into our jeep cycle key on.off.on.off.on quickly and read the codes that pop up. When the MIL flashes it generally means you have a serious problem and should not drive it.

Note: The door has to be closed for this to work.

Have you tried using the procal to clear the DTCs ? (It's under engine functions)

I did clear codes on the drive home saturday.

well today, this morning i dont have check light on, jeep is running right. Took it to the dealer, the codes stored had to do with ABS, speedo.

Question is would this cause power loss, misfire, etc. But why that night only or why after hundred of miles drive if it was working fine?

AEV What are your suggestion?
