Hey everyone,
I just uploaded a news item about the Procal that includes a few interesting things we haven't mentioned yet. Nothing about the super secret easter egg - so don't ask ;) So a few things that didn't fit in the news item,
The video that the guys over at That's Awesome.Tv did is really really good. I can't believe they did it on their own and then didn't even try and sell it to us.
I was asked recently who developed the Procal for us and where it was made overseas because they wanted to buy it themselves. Sorry to dissapoint him, but proud to recalim that we design all of our own electronics and everything except the specific microchips and discrete parts are designed, made, assembled in the USA.
I've dealt with a situation this week where a customer bought a used Procal that both parties thought would work, although the module was actually still paired to another car. For this reason, we ask that anyone interested in buying a used Procal be very cautious as while it worked out fine this time, there are scammers out there, and we don't want to see anyone ripped off.
All Procal's work for 2010 models. The current box for the Procal does say 2007-2009 but new boxes are have the correct dates.
The most common problem I am seeing with Procal use is when users program tire size and then immediately start the vehicle. This will cause a temporarily unresponsive speedometer and a check engine light. To prevent this from happening: Make certain that any time the Procal is used, the Jeep is in ignition (one key click before Start), after the Procal honks the horn, that the car is shut off before the vehicle is started. If this has happened to you, the fix is easy, use the Procal to program a different tire size then the one you have, then use the Procal to program your correct tire size, and finally use the Procal to Clear DTC codes (consult the Quick Reference).
The second most common problem I am seeing is the TPMS. If you have programmed the Tire Pressure value to a lower number than the one you have but the light remains on know that the actual tire pressure must be at least 5psi above the programmed number and driven around before the light will shut off. This is difficult system to work with so if there are further questions, feel free to contact us.
So... I'm not sure if anyone will take me up on a Question and Answer offer, but I would be happy to answer any questions relating to the AEV EGR (Superlift WK/XK Suspension), or AEV Procal. Just ask as a reply to this thread.
