6.1 Hemi in a TJ

Dave,

I spoke with screamin lizard here in Texas (I am in Houston) about a 6.1 TJ conversion. I am fuzzy about the AEV/SL relationship.

Is SL work certified as an AEV conversion? Is it the same conversion?

Does a 6.1 conversion still have "easter eggs" as with the 5.7?

Are there any drawbacks to the 6.1 in an 04 TJ Rubi?

From what I have read AEV will not put the 6.1 into a TJ so I am guessing the answer to the AEV-SL relationship is that this is something SL is doing on their own.

Right, we don't do the 6.1 in a TJ. Primary reason is that there is no factory calibration for a TJ style J1850 bus network. There are some 6.1s out there running 5.7 cals and there are some running "hacked and tweeked" cals, but we don't want the potential headaches.

SCL is the performance and mod end of Grubbs Jeep in TX. They are an AEV dealer, but they work with other companies as well.
