We should have more info from Chrysler shortly and I'm working on sending out an update to those who have filled out applications. Its looking good but I'm trying to get some firm dates from Chrysler before I say anything.

+1 This thing seems to have stalled out...
No update from AEV. After filling the application of the J8 program, they have not updated the status so I contacted them via mail, but they have not replied yet. I don’t know why they are taking these much time to send the reply. I came to know that they have not fixed the date yet.

Of course there is no excuse for not getting a reply, but I completely understand why they're not flooding the streets with J8's or any of their prematurely-announced accessories. It's got to be good upon release or you have the constant 'updates' that follow.
I've been on the AEV cool-aid for years and its not hard to see, when the buzz dies down and things get quiet, AEV makes some sort of announcement to get people talking. People get hyped up and then nothing.
I'd assume wait for a quality product than the failed prototype. You may have to wait, but they both cost the same.

Dave's last reply stated that they were waiting on Chrysler. With the turmoil that Chrysler has just come through, with 16 new models and multiple refreshes of product, with a new Wrangler model coming along with a major refresh, new drivetrain and many other things going on at Jeep, you have to expect to wait a bit longer.
Marchionne recently said that they will have a decision and information on the Wrangler line within 40 days. Until Jeep knows what it is doing, AEV can't know.
40 days after two years isn't that hard to take.
