Hey guys...

As some of you know I've been a big fan of the Brute for a very long time... but the prospect of stretching a Jeep over here in Dubai and trying to get it registered is just a bit daunting. We don't have nice clear cut rules here like you would in the US - and too many uncertainties for such a project.

So - I found an alternative.

She's a 1982 Toyota FJ45 from Oman. Very similar in concept and size.

Going to be making a canopy over the rear similar to the AEV rack / canopy, and doing some other expedition focussed modifications to it that might interest you guys. I'll update this thread when those things happen.

For now, enjoy the pictures!

As much as i dont like FJs the FJ-45 has also had a very small place in my heart.Im sure it was some of the inspiration for the Brute.I had a family member tell me once they saw an FJ with a Brute kit and i was like "No,those were actually factory."

Thanks Dave

And thanks Forsaken - the 45 has a special place in my heart too - growing up out here in the Middle East you'd always see them in the most remotest places, with millions of miles on them and still going strong, working hard every day.

This particular one has a very special place in my heart too. Belonged to the parents of a girl I fell for ages ago. They're leaving the region, but a part of them is staying behind and will be cherished :)
