nice looking GC by the way!
Sure haven't and I don't know of anyone that has--this includes some guys that have done some pretty extensive wheeling in Moab, etc.
What has the situation been when you've run into issues with the CV axles?

Mud tends to break stuff, that is why I try to avoid it. For every minute of playing in the mud you can expect an hour of maintenence.

no kidding how much do those tires weight(each.) MT tires are a lot heavier..I know mine weigh damn near 60 lbs each.
Gotta be the mud - makes things a lot less predictable and requires more skinny pedal than rock crawling.

Also, about muddy terrain, depending on what kind of mud(clay, silty, sandy, rocky, very soft[compost, marsh land,] etc.) you are traversing determines if the granules can work themselves into the bushings and various seals on your suspension and even drivetrain system. Of course you all know this probably.

Actually I didn't know that - kinda interesting actually.

I have wheeled the WK all over Moab...and my XK on 40s without breaking a shaft (pretty hard too...) I know the Jeep development guys didn't break any shafts during development...so...gonna go out on a limb here and venture to guess that part of the problem stems from how you have mud all over the roof:D Looks like your fun has overcome the strength of the axles. Its a live and learn thing of course, but watch out for anything that can give you instant traction if you need to get on it in the mud, if/when the tire catches it will break stuff.
FYI and not that it matters when your sitting there with a broken axle shaft...but the WK/XK shafts are much bigger than the 1/2 ton Chevy truck IFS stuff with better CVs too. (yeah, I know I just compared a Jeep to a Chevy IFS...)

Do you still wheel that XK or is it just for show? I would love to see more pictures of it in action. :D

I tend to drive it only in the winter, I think I would feel a little weird driving it in the summer:) I actually use it quite a bit, I'll look around for any recent photos.
