after the lift was completely installed and torqued to spec, the 2005 Grand Cherokee with QT1 and the 3.7L engine was lowered to the ground and started up. Right off the bat several lights came on the dash. ABS, Transmission, ESP, Service Electronic Brake System message on the EVIC all came on the display screen. I took it into the dealership and they diagnosed that the front control module had fried...they couldn't determine what the root cause was yet so they ordered the module and installed it yesterday morning. The same lights were on this time as well. So their service rep and senior technician called me today and wanted me to come in. the tech says that with the diagnosis tests he ran suggests that the CanBus system was a possibly cause so he will spend the next couple of days tracing through the wiring and seeing which can bus sensor was the culprit. FOR THE RECORD THE EGR MODULE WAS INSTALLED.
I gave the contact information to the service rep and he will be contacting AEV to see if AEV has came across anything like this in the past or similar current issues that have popped up recently.
The rep will be calling from Dave Burt Motors of Columbus, IN and their number is 812-372-2575 direct the call to the service department and try to talk to ERIC he will also be the one contacting AEV concerning this issue. They've never encountered the problem at the dealership before I brought my vehicle in.

Joel M.

the control panel behind the gauge cluster panel was shorted out...hopefully that was the problem and nothing else.

yes, there was also a fried front control module as well. Geeesh, I racked up a $nice$ bill too. I should have the vehicle back by this coming Friday, on the 22nd. I'm still glad I installed the lift myself, but I wouldn't of had to pay for these replacement parts had a professional shop installed it for me(they would have most likely footed the bill.) My only argument with the service department at the dealershiop is that they had installed the OEM remote start system one day prior to me starting the install. They didn't solder the wiring connection and only used the wire crimps to join the wires. This, in my opinion, could be a likely cause as well.

Well, I got my WK back a couple days ago, big bill, but getting in the vehicle for the first time since it's been fixed put an even bigger smile on my face.
