Have you guys thought about making a wider flare, like 7 inch or bigger

Actually, I want thinner ones... maybe that's why they make the size in the middle...

But Dave, it's Jeep's job to look after the 95th percentile... It's your job to look after those of us in the remaining 5!!!

Seriously though, when wider flares are available, sign me up. I'd be happy with anything in the 8" range. Would love to squeeze some 38 x 15.50's under the flares :D

Well, everyone has a point, especially the guys outside the US. Right now, the Highlines are selling fairly well, but not fast enough to justify the cost of tooling for another set of flares.

Thanks for the replies Dave. I am one of the lucky ones outside of the US. I come from Australia and have been dealing with Pro-comp to fit out my JK with all your stuff. Now I am looking at doing some mods to my TJ but your flares arent wide enough for my tj.
looking forward to some more jk stuff like the rear bumper.

cheers Mark

The current ones are what - 5.5 inches?

Seriously if there was a limited production run of anything in the 8 to 10 inch range I would definitely order a set.

Perhaps gauge responses by doing a prototype set on a TJ with some wide Dana 60's and monster tires for the next Sema Off Road?

I want a roof rack with roof top tent etc. on the Jeep and to compensate, want to make it rather wide :)

Dave how many sets of wider flares would need to be done to make it worth it.
Would a hi-line flare fit on a standard guard if you cut it down, the you might be able to sell them to non hiline guys. just a thought.

Being from the Anti-Fun state known as NJ I too would really like to see some wider flares. Not sure what other states have similar rules but passing motor vehicle inpection here is not easy. The rules here call for the flares to completely cover the tire. This is a joke since the stock flares on my Rubi didn't cover the stock tires. Once you lift here you have to go for a " High Rise Vehicle" inspection. Seems like it depends on what inspector you get what will pass and what won't.

Why not just have a spacer water cut out of some 1-2" thick plastic sheet to make the flares wider? You could even glue everything together and spray it with some bed liner to make it look like once piece.

The biggest upside to this method is that you can have narrow flares OR wider flares when you need them. I for one want a little extra coverage for some winter snow tires AND I want the normal width flares for the summer tires.

If someone uses this idea just make me a set :)
