How well, if at all, would a Jeep Liberty frame work as a Brute build?

Very big question.

The fact that you'd be tying in a Moncoque chassis into a Ladder Chassis would be the deciding factor. You' probably have to make up a whole new chassis for the front section, or there may be a fluke of a way to unbolt the front end suspension and engine cradle of the Liberty and sit it on top of the existing Wrangler Chassis.

Many Many question and measurements required. You'd basically have to commit to actually doing it to find out..........

Photoshop for the 1st part is your friend :)

I 'm not sure it needs to be junked, but it has no frame in the conventional sense, it's a unitbody.
What happened? Rear ended?

Brought a roll-over 2.8L diesel, removing the 2.8L diesel to make some type of Jeep ... have not decided what yet

Well at least you've got a great engine, driveline and PCM / TCM's ect, that's a great start.

I''d keep that and wreck/ sell the remaining vehicle as parts to fund start of your build. Why not do a Brute with that engine and gearbox ect in it? That would be unique.

Ditto! If you have the NV242 transfer case, transmission, rear axle, and a great engine WITH the PCM/TCM etc., you have just what you need to start a great project.
What is your location?

I'm in Michigan just north of Detroit ... I'm kind of leaning towards a Brute, would like a Jeep pick-up, my 99 GMC is starting to rust. The vehicle ran when I picked it up, the engine, transmission, transfer case are good, the rear axle is a maybe ... it was falling off/disconnected from the vehicle.

Bin the axle then, its a Chry 8.25" C clip, you wouldnt want to run that in a Brute imo. Keep using the Axles in the TJ you buy for the Brute.

Just utilise the Engine, Tranny, Tcase and PCM/TCM.

I am the Australian Distributor for GDE (Green Diesel Engineering). I'm 99.9% sure Keith from GDE worked with Dave H from AEV in tuning / calibrating the same engine ect for his LJ 2.8 CRD so it does work.

Mate I WISH I had your combo..........but for the record I'm on the hunt for an Australian Rolled WK CRD Wreck. Would'nt it be nice to have an constant
4WD Brute with a 3.0lt V6 Merc CRD Engine and silk auto with 510Nm of Torque!!

Talk about a Killer combo. I'd take that over a V8 conversion any day of the week - trouble is finding one
