View Full Version : Brute rear frame ext on TJ?

Has anyone contemplated the idea of puting a Brute rear frame ext on a tj (non-brute)? I do not run a tailgate so the winch mount and extra carrying space looks like it would be a good deal.
The only thing I see as drama will be minor mods to the body to allow the winch mount to fit.
What do you think?

Could be done. Would be awesome to see afterwards.

The Brute looks a lot longer behind the axle than a TJ does... it'll be a strange looking beast if you stretch the tub accordingly yet keep the standard TJ wheelbase.
for the money you'd be putting into it - you'd be better off selling yours and replacing it with an Unlimited, and fabricating a winch mount in the space behind the gas tank.

Laurie is correct, the Brute rear frame is 15" longer behind the stock TJ rear crossmember.
