Guess, I should post this Brute. This was the first Brute that was ever built. It was probably the first Rubicon in public hands and with 11 miles on it, we cut it up. Jordan and I had spent the previous six weeks designing and building all the parts for the Brute Conversion. We had about five days to assemble the thing before the SEMA show (thanks to Dave Yegge for taking vacation time from his job at Jeep to help out). Its no exaggeration that we showed up covered in dirt and red paint. We were still bolting on pieces on the display stand!

Dave - you "guess" you should post it??? It's the vehicle that captured everybody's attention at Sema, so, of course you should post it :D

I hope to make one just like it one day... :)

It seems as though this has been one of the most popular vehicles Jeep has shown in their booth at SEMA ever. It inspired the Gladiator concept, and now the JT concept. Is there any chance for a similar convertion for the JK?

Where is it now? For that matter might be cool to have a thread dedicated to each of the AEV project vehicals. You could up date there latest mods or plans on which shows there headed to next... Or even better... When there hitting the market! :)

I'm not sure if a "Brutes: Where are they now" would be that interesting.

The silver prototype was auctioned off to a guy in VA iirc. Dave still has the red one here. Its been updated to production Brute.

Stay tuned that one may go up for sale at some point.

Excluding the kits, how many Brutes have you guys done so far?

I am assuming that this is the one with the Hemi conversion, highline kit, and 37" Krawlers that is online, and I saw in the parking area when I was in Missoula last time. It looks awesome.

Look no further then :)

The forum is where we'll be posting updates on mods, parts, trips, etc.

Brute owners are of course encouraged to do the same. Stay tuned.

Where did you guys get the pre-filter on the top of the Prototype's Snorkel?

I think it was through ARB, but they get them from some company making them for semitrucks.

I think we might have one left here if you don't have any luck with ARB.

Thanks Jordan I'll let you know.

Any chance I could get a diameter measurement of the flat part a the top? i.e. inside of the radiused corners.

My plan is to mount this antenna on the top of the snorkel - for Worldspace Radio. Worldspace is the equivalent of XM outside of North America. Some channels are shared.

Iirc, there is a wingnut on the top of that unit :)

If I see one, I'll grab a photo of it with some sort of dimensions,
