Thought I would be the first one to post a message. My black 2008 3.0L diesel 4x4 limited came in on Friday. It is my first jeep to own. I absolutely love the performance. I will be using it for towing my boat and for commuting mainly. I ordered a set of the 17" pintler wheels as a factory replacement. They should arrive on Monday. I will post some pics after they come in. Also will be replacing the chrome limited grill with the black SRT8 grill. Will post pics of that one too.

Sweet! Did you order silver or Argent? I saw a Black Commander leave here the other day with the silver and it looked reaallly good.

Can I have your engine and transmission :D

What kind of real world mileage is your Grand getting?

It was a hard decision, but I went with argent. Figured they wouldn't show the dirt as easily.

Not sure about the gas mileage yet. Have used a quarter tank since Friday, but have been really heavy-footed. I am pleasantly suprised with the acceleration from stop.

I want to post some pics even though they are low quality. Need to figure out how.

doesn't look like the commander is getting that motor.

damn.

do you like the motor so far? it must be a common rail injection design. is it pretty quiet?

nice look jeep!

I am really happy with the motor so far. It is very quiet, but still sounds like a diesel. Reminds me of a very quiet version of a school bus sound. Going to test out the towing capability this weekend. As stated, I am very happy with the pickup it has (maybe this is why they call it a turbo diesel). Pretty sure it is comparable with the big hemi. Probably a performance chip could make it more like the SRT.

I went from wanting the Rescue, to the new Wrangler, and then to the WK. All because, I liked the look of AEV Wranglers, but needed something powerful enough for towing. The WK feels solid and is very nice inside. I might have gone with the commander had it had the diesel. I'll post some better daytime pics once the Pintler wheels get put on early next week. Will be changing the grill a week after that.

Here are some more pre-Pintler pics. The diesel WK did well pulling a 23' bay boat.

Here are some photo's of my 2005 WK with the AEV Argent Pintlers. Looking forward to the rear tire carrier and winch setup as well! hopefully I have not traded or sold her off before this happens.

Looks very nice. I miss my old WJ, but now I can save up for a JK :D since it is more mod friendly, but shhhh dont tell the missus.

Looks good, what gas mileage are you getting towing/city/hwy

Looks like Jeep is offering the CRD in the laredo package

My argent pintlers came in today. Going to try to install them tomorrow morning. Should get some pics up with them on soon. Will definitely be a less agressive look. Going for a hybrid sport look. We'll see how it turns out.

Not sure about the mileage yet, but probably upper teens will be normal for my daily driving. Glad to see the Laredo is getting this engine. Hopefully it will spread to the other models.

Night pics in a parking lot with all yellow lights. SRT grill should be in by the weekend. I think the AEV Pintlers look slick. They add a whole new look to the stock Fortera HL's.

Looks good. Does anyone know if they make a lift for the diesel as it would require a heavier spring rating with the weight of the diesel?

Are those center caps a sticker you apply?

Thanks.

It is a 3M adhesive sticker with a plastic bubble coating over it. You stick this onto the supplied plastic caps.

If you don't like the yellow logo (which I do), you can put the stock jeep caps on it. The people installing the wheels actually put those on at first.

Cool, I wasn't sure if the stock Jeep caps would fit. If I end up getting the AEV JK (which I really want, just need to get the money for) I want the bison logo on the side but not the yellow wheel caps. It is more just a matter of preference I think.

Yeah I personnally like the Yellow Cap as it did not stick out like a sore thumb like I thought they might. I actually prefer the yellow emblem to the factory look. Looks a little more off-road to me! Just my $.02

I just installed the SRT8 grill. In my case, the yellow adds to the sporty look. Plus matches the turn signals in the front. I took some pics, but with the camera's built-in flash memory. Will be able to upload them tomorrow. Looks incredible to me. I didn't like the jeep center caps on them either. Might look better with the silver, but not the argent. Really tones down the wheels with the jeep caps.

Milage update: was getting 19.2 earlier today. Didn't realize that you could monitor that as you are driving.

Any pictures with the new front fascia? I am thinking that with the yellow centercapts, and the new grill it looks kind of Ferrarish (in a sporty way).

Looks good! Watch your caps though I have been loosing them left and right. They either break or fly off as I'm driving down the road. Lost another two today!

I'll watch out for that. How do you notice they are flying off? Do you think the design should change? Maybe make the center cap a little deeper or made of a metal?

That or a stiffer plastic with a metal ring on the back side like the Factory setup.

I am just loosing them on the street and stuff. Maybe that when I got them rotated and balanced that Discount Tire was careless and broke one of the plastic pegs that help it snap in and thus they just flew off?

Not sure but they could use a new design for them in my opinion.

I would hope that the shop didn't balance it in a machine that used a cone thwough the center of the wheel because this may have damaged the wheel causing the center caps to fly off. With some shops though they just don't really pay attention.

Red_Raider911

Nothing looks damages on the wheel itself. Unfortunately the center caps are only plastic and not very sturdy. If you were to break off simply one of the teeth or pegs or clips,.....whatever you want to call them they will not stay in the wheel. They appear to but once you get up to speed it will spin them clean off. Pretty sure they just broke one of the center caps.

I have sent through a request asking for these to be mad sturdier.
