doesn't look like too much fab work, but its an unlimited and i think SWB tj's look kinda funny with a half cab top on it. but i would sell my tj for an lj in a heartbeat for this

It looks like all you would need is to modify the cab closeout from AEV, or make your own, and then it should work. Looks very unique, and I like it better than the saffari tops with the windjammer.

Here's an LJ/Brute style truck.

that is the gr8 tops half cab, i don't like it nearly as much as an aev brute hard top. but it comes with a bulkhead for the closeout.

We've been talking about making a bulkhead. Any interest?

I like the look too, do you have pictures of the rails on rear of bed? Modifying them to look like Brute bed with lip and ties might be really cool and functional.

It looks like a small Defender. Very nice, I like it.

I like it too - not quite as versatile as the Brute with it's longer bed however. Still, it looks proportionate and would be useful for hauling stuff around - especially with a drop down tailgate.

Here is a link to the flickr page with the rest of the photos...

If you google Rubi Trux you will find a company in Boone, NC that converts CJ-8 to small scale "brutes". Seems that is the interest of this thread.

I know nothing of the company, the prices, the quality other than they exist and if you are into that kind of thing they look pretty cool.

My apologies in advance if I posted in appropriate information about a non sponser company.

Thanks for the link recon! Like we needed something else to drool over. Did you notice they had an American Expedition Vehicle Package which has a Brute top conversion? Now if they'd just put the Highline Kit as an option and let me be a permanent product tester, lol. Seriously though I'd love to do an actual CJ-8 with an Aqualu body, Jeep Dana 60 axles, the new diesel (whenever it comes out), and the AEV Highline Kit. Make the interior like the TLC Icons. Sorry for highjacking the thread!

the rubi trux package is a Gr8 tops kit which is only 1700 bucks and do it yourself. includes top and fiberglass bulkhead. but there price wasn't too bad for linex and everything.

then the make a custom bulkhead for the aev top, which obviouly isn't that hard to do if you have a welder and some time. i don't so i need someone to make me one.

and a SWB tj can look good with the brute top, but you have to strech the wheelbase for it to look right, but that is a whole new ball game.

I found one at Park Jeep in Burnsville MN. Looks cool.
