I have an 05 Unlimited Rubicon that I would like to install an Nth Degree LA lift on. What would I need to complete the lift aside from a rear driveshaft, shocks and tires? What are the recommended shocks? Also, is there a timeframe yet when PDFs of the install instructions will be available?

Thank you.

All the TJ parts are available and shipping, should hit the website next week if all goes well. Email rocco@aev-conversions.com for the pdfs.

As Dave said the parts, website, and online instructions will be up later this week (maybe even tonight). Most of the instructions are still the Nth versions, but since the way the parts are installed hasn't changed (except for the Shock Shifter), these instructions are still valid and are even what still comes in the kits until we have time to rewrite and take new photos.

We recommend (and stock) OME TJ LongTravel shocks for the 4.5" version and Bilstein TJ shocks for the +6" version. Though there are some differences in the ride (and of course OME's are twin-tube while Bilstein's are monotube), the main reason for the different recommendations is to match the lengths to the suspension's height. That is, the OME's are too short for the 6" setup and the Bilsteins are too long for the 4.5" setup. These are the same shocks that Nth recommended and sold as well.

Tom Woods, JE Reel and others make quality driveshafts that will work well and are an easy install on a Rubicon TJ. We may sell these direct as Nth did, but we've not gotten that set up yet, so your best bet is to contact your favorite driveline place directly.

We recommend (and stock) OME TJ LongTravel shocks for the 4.5" version

Is this still the case? There's no other stock that will work?

Well I got my Nth kit when it was still Nth. So the shocks I run are the ones they sold on their site. I believe they are Rubicon Express remote reservoir shocks and I am completely satisfied in their performance. If I did it again I would run their regular mono tube shocks and save a bunch of cash. Bilstiens are good shocks and I will be looking forward to running them on my wife's AEV 3.5 JK lift on her Rubicon. As far as the drive shaft, I am still running the factory front and I got the one Nth sold which was a Tom Woods shaft (I could tell by the U-joints).

Thanks, Supr. RE Monotubes (remote res or not), Bilstein 5100, Rancho 9000, are all great shocks. The message I quoted from Jim says the only one they recommended for the 4.5" long arm was the OME which is a twin-tube design. I realize that's an old message, but the Nth dealer I'm speaking with also recommends the OMEs, which has me wondering what's up. I don't think a twin-tube is the best choice for the wheeling I do. I see that gellio's profile shows he runs the Bilsteins with a 4.5" lift, so I would like to get some clarification. Thanks again for your input.

I still run the Rubicon Express that came with my Nth. Good shocks although I did blow a seal out of one of them from a hard landing:rolleyes:
