I did not know this forum was here - would of been handy to ask questions before I did my install.

I posted lots of pictures showing my install at http://forum.jkboard.com/viewtopic.php?t=6603

I did not know what torque to use on the bumper bolts so I used 66 ft lbs - same as factory service manual. Does AEV recommend a particular torque for the bumper, winch plate, skid plate, and tow hook bolts?

Also did AEV instructions change from cutting the crush cans rectangular (picture on instructions page 12) vs. the template at the end of the instructions? Has anyone tried the way page 12 shows or knows why AEV changed?

That is a good write up. I will probably be refrencing it when I am ready to do my install. What HID lights are those, and what bracket are you using for the windsheild lights?

The HID lights I got about 6 months ago on sale ($99) from Kragen auto parts. They are $120 at the moment.

The windhsield brackets I made. I used shelf brackets from Orchard Supply. I had to heat the angle and twist it slightly so the HID mounts level. I added the straight cut piece so the side mirrors don't hit as you are opening the doors. The vertical position is important in order to maximize the door opening space yet be slightly away from the radio antenna on the passenger side.

Using shelf brackets got to be a habit. I made a latop table because I run topographic maps with USB GPS when I'm on the trail.

Might need to keep those in mind if we get a JK. :D
