Hello, i'm new on this forum, we with a customer we're interested in swapping out the 3.8 for a 6.1 Hemi, i already have located the engine and tranny, however the vendor told me that the tranny is a 45RFE, not a 545RFE, out of a Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi 4x4, i wonder if that tranny will work for our intented application.
Also i need to know if you have a dealer located in Florida for buying the 6.1 conversion kit
Thanks in advance

Pabust,
I'll assume you are getting the engine either new or out of a WK or LX since the 6.1L never came in the Dodge Ram. The 45RFE is the same as the 5-45RFE. You can use any 5-45RFE transmission from behind a HEMI.

Thanks, actually the tranny is from a Dodge Ram, the engine is from a Charger SRT8, sorry i didn't get the detail on that. The important thing is that the tranny/engine combo should work ok

Sounds like you'll be in good shape. The kit comes with a Bill of Materials required from Mopar. Be sure to check it against your parts. Most likely you'll need to change the Flex plate, Power steering pump, AC compressor, Alternator and 4WD adapter. Also, the LX cars have a bushing in the back of the crank that needs to be removed before you can mate the 5-45 to it.

As i understand, i have to change all those parts on the Charger's 6.1 Hemi engine for new Mopar parts? If that's the case, why? i'm about to bought a complete Charger engine that comes with all the accesories included, and they wouldn't work?? If i'm mistaken please let me know. The tranny is from a 4wd truck so i don't need an adapter (i hope)

Unfortunately Chrysler uses many variations of parts on the same engine for packaging or other reasons. We have to choose one style of part that fits best and is compatible with the rest of the system. The regulator part of the alternator from a car (LX) works completely differently and will fry the Grand Cherokee style wiring which is what we chose to use since its similar to the JK. The power steering pump we use is from the SRT8 Grand, which has a built in reservoir and packages the best. The AC compressor is from the Commander and we chose that also because of where the ports were located, it packaged the best since there is virtually no room in the JK between the steering gear.

I see...
those parts are included in the kit, or can they be included? seems pretty complicated after all, and being from outside USA makes parts pickup much more difficult

The Mopar parts are not included in the kit. Think of the kit as everything custom that is required, meaning that you don't have to fabricate anything custom.
AEV can supply any of the Mopar parts required on the same shipment which might make it easier since you're out of the country.

He'll have to change the oil pan if it is a front sump like the LX.
