What I am trying to figure out is what are the necessary modifications when running 35'' tires, Nth TT, and AEV Highline kit all on.
Drive shaft has to be replaced.
I am sure you had to change gear as well?

Depending on how much lift you are running you would need to change the driveshaft, and use a slip yoke eliminator kit. If you are staying under approximately 2" you should be ok without any driveline mods, but may need to trim some. In the past I think Nth has been aeound the 3.5" range and then you would have to make the driveline replacements. I know I have heard that you need a 1" body lift to run the Nth tummy tucker, and I have also heard you don't, but something to keep in mind. As for gears it would be prefferable to upgrade to 4.56 of 4.88 gears to maintain the driveability, but it isn't mandatory, and you are not going to hurt your vehicle by maintaining the stock ratios. You just will no longer have as quick of acceleration, and you will probably see a decrease in you mpg.

I did gears, 5.13 work for both 35 and 37... On road is one issue for gear, the other is offroad. I have a 4 to 1 transfer case, with stock gears and larger tires you loose crawl, it makes it like a 3 to 1... If you have an Unlimited TJ you may not need a DS with 3" of lift and TT... On a SWB, you will... As for Body Lift, not required with nth TT. You do have to dimple the inner tub about 1/4 inch, not a big deal and easy to do and you can't see it...

I do have an Unlimited TJ. with a TT installed. Dimpled for the installation and no body lift.
With a 3 to 3.5" lift and say 33" tires. I have heard gearing can remain stock with not much trouble. So with that lift and those tires do you think it will still need a new DS

I had a Unlimited TJ (Slang is LJ) with 3" lift, 33" tires, and a TT. I ran the stock drive shaft and stock gears with no issues. You might need to adjust pinion, which means adjustable control arms or a nth Stinger.

Alright perfect thats what I needed to know. Which suspension did you run. I want to run Nth but looking at the price for the LA, they are going to be nasty expensive. Rubicon Express- whats your opinion on their kits.

Usually for 4" or less you can run short arms, some Long Arms will not wrok with less than 3-4"... If you are running 33" tires you can run short arms... I like the nth products, there are many choices, lost of info on lifts at the link below, join and use search feature...

I dry cycled the nth LA with track bar brace and an aftermarket diff cover and all of it fits at full stuff using OME Long Travel shocks the bump stops could be out and it all fits, slight rub (powder coat remove) on front LA at the TT bracket that is near frame. So I know on my Jeep I could run 3" springs with LA....
Now, I am running the 4.5 spring with no spacers. With 37" tires and the back spacing of the AEV bead locks and a Warn Power plant on the front I needed 4.5 springs to keep the tires from rubbing steering box bolts... I removed the bump stop lip so spring can ride down 1.5 inches because of the OME long travel shocks...
So, I hope this helps others... I would say with highline run stock suspension with 33” tires, run 3" with 35" tires and 4.5" with 37"'s... I have done all three and base this on my personal experience.

Cool I am upgrading to Nth 3" springs and parting with the rancho 2.5" that have served me well....with the exception of limited up travel and steering issues...wheels hit the frame/steering box bolts.

rubclt...Great looking Jeep! Two questions for you...
1. Is the Nth LA lift worth the price and are your handling characteristics noticably improved...onroad and offroad?
2. Do you like your AEV beadlocks for daily driving use? Or would you have a non beadlock set for daily use, and your beads for trail riding?
Thanks...I'll look at the pics as long as you keep posting them!

Thanks, I agree, I wish I bought Argent; they were out of stock and wanted/needed the wheels. I may paint them a new color... I have been considering painting the rings black to see if that improves the looks but would have to touch them up as the rings get scratched.

rubclt...Great looking Jeep! Two questions for you...
1. “Is the Nth LA lift worth it…?” Short answer, yes! I have tried many different combinations of short and long arm lifts on half a dozen TJ’s. The nth LA is by far the most complete and best handling both on and off road for a TJ in my opinion, period.
2. “Do you like your AEV bead locks…?” In general, yes. Bead Locks look cool and perform well on and off road. The one issue I did not plan for is a tire store that will work with them. Most of the big chains will not touch them. So when you need a balance you have the find local stores and usually talk manager into it… Or an off road store… Mounting them the first time takes time if you do it yourself or you pay a lot of labor to have it done… Just my experience with bead locks in general and no real reflection on the AEV product specifically…

The brand I used is Magnum. I bought them from the tire shop I got my tires from, Accell Tire in Mooresville, but you can get them from tons of places on-line. You order based on your tire size.

Thanks, I had considered Black rings for a while, your jeep picture pushed me over to do it... the button heads bolts are the replacements I ordered from AEV, I think they are $9 or 10 a wheel... The center cap AEV sells a silver one, I used the one from my Rubicon wheels, perfect fit...

Final note, I flat blacked wheel wells while I had the wheels off, careful masked ore removed parts, sanded, etc., hope it last...
