I have lusted after the 4dr JK ever since I saw the Skunkwerks Diesel at SEMA in 2006. Now rather than buy a JK Now I decided to wait and see if a Diesel was going to be a reality. Instead I have been working on building up a TJ Brute and wanted to know if anyone has done a Diesel. Specifically does anyone know if a 3.0 from the new GG would fit and be feasible. finishing stage 1 but already planning for stage 2 :) If AEV has future plans for a Diesel in a JK would that same option apply to those of us with TJs :)

Burnsville offroad was installing the 2.8 in TJs. They just used all the OEM parts from the Diesel TJ in Europe.

I really think the 3.0crd is waaaay too big! The liberty 2.8CRD fits fine and just requires new MM and wiring.....I have considered this as option..I am worried about the wiring. Also you will need to run different front upper control arms as they will interfere

Burnsvill Offroad has done the 2.8 liberty diesel swap in the past, but due to the price of the engine, and complexity of the swap, it was actually more expensive to put in the diesel than the Hemi. You can put any engine into any vehicle, the main thing is how much is the new engine worth and how much are you willing to pay for the swap.

There never was a diesel TJ in Europe. The only factory 2.8L Diesel TJs ever produced were military T1's made for Egypt starting at the very end of 05 and ending in 06. I have the only one I have ever seen run or photos of finished although I hear the AFW guys built one that runs from a friend of mine. I've never seen any that Burnsville has done, only the half finished one on their site, but I will agree that it is an expensive conversion that is hard to justify. Don't get me wrong I love mine and it drives great, but its hard to justify the cost when a HEMI is cheaper and easier to install.

So what if there was another diesel option that would be a perfect fit, what would people be willing to pay?
What kind of power requirements do you have?
