RF - are these the same CM's I got?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/122261159545...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I've also been watching the following on Amazon.

CM M654AG - 12.5TWLL - $44.42
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0048A8E88...I10QA2EINDCO65

Crosby G-209 - 8.5TWLL - $58.80
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005648RT6...=IKEAVGRDYCWBP

If you watch some of the auctions, people return items and those returns can be owned for much less than retail.

Case in point - I got those G-209's for $25.89+tax to use as a backup.

Personally, these are super strong and work simply and easily. American company, and because of the construction they don't damage your bumper at all and are very adaptable to a lot of different circumstances for recovery.

Bubba Rope is coming out with their "Pro Series" soft shackles in 1-2 months. I would probably wait for those. Bubba rope shackles are made with 12 strand Spectra and completely made in the USA. The fibers are made by Honeywell. The rope is made by Cortland. The shackle is made by Bubba Rope. Good stuff.

The soft shackles win in weight and ease of use, but they just cannot compare with the durability of the steel shackles. A good steel shackle will last you a lifetime of hard use. Yes, soft shackles have superb strength (ability to withstand an applied force) but they cannot compare when it comes to durability. The soft shackles are susceptible to heat, UV light, chemicals, abrasion, cutting, etc.

Yes, but at $28 I would pass. It is a "super carbon" shackle which is better than the standard "carbon" shackle but not as good as "alloy'.

I would pay $37.70 and get the Campbell 7/8" Alloy Shackle. It is stronger, lighter, and better.

Hey Baskin Robbins makes 31 different flavors because everybody likes something different. I prefer the soft shackles because I know they will work on anyone's tow points or any make shift locations. Nothing sucks worse then being out on the trail and needing a simple tow or tug and finding out your hard durable shackles won't work on any of the tow points around me. If that means every 5 years I need to buy new soft shackles I'm totally good with it. Don't get me wrong, I have a full mix of both but if given a choice my first go to is the soft shackle.
