Default 2500 and 6.4 gearing?

In short my Rubicon was totaled and went ahead and tried something different this go round, 2017 Power Wagon (the 3/4 ton rubicon ).

With that said I was looking to throw on a set of 315 70 17 Duratracs and AEV Salta wheels. How will the 4.10 gear ratio and 6.4 handle that change? I see most of Prospectors with the 6.4 hemi are running 4.10's and 37's. As a note, no 37's for me now or in the future. Wont fit in the garage at work and that is crucial so 35's is it for me.

With the jeep (3.6 penastar) I had to regear immediately to 4.56 as I could not take the constant gear hunting and loss of "power" and that is something I do not want in this truck.

Thoughts/opinions?

Cheers!!!

I don't think it'll be an issue for you.

Roger that and thanks. Thought I would still inquire since there aren't as many brains to pick on these types of trucks and setups.

Dave, off the gearing subject is it a safe assumption those wheels have enough offset/backspacing to keep from rubbing on the stock power wagon suspension with the 315 70's? Thanks again!

Those tires wont rub with the stock wheels, Im sure you will be fine with the AEV wheels.

I would guess so, and if so it'll probably only be a slight rub in reverse on the control arm which is a "friendly" surface...I really don't have too much experience outside of our suspension package.

37" BFG KO2 on HD Salta wheels. My 16 PW is currently at stock height. 35's you won't even notice with the power our 6.4L engines have. My 410 gears did fine, however once you correct for tire size, it shifts soooo much better.

How are you liking the KO2? Anyone else running those?

I have them on my truck, they are excellent, especially in snow and ice, they work very well on the Rams.
