Googled the Jeep Speed Shop and they do both Hemi and LS conversions and they claim to be the ONLY emissions compliant shop in the US!

Anyway, what I'm really looking at is the used, out of state market. Somebody, somewhere has had to buy a AEV from out of state and dealt with the CA DMV, right?

From what I can tell, we've solved the CA Tax issue, now I need to hear from some owners about their experience dealing with the Emissions Police.

Good question. I've run trails with 5.7 and 6.4 conversions that were registered in CA, so there must be an answer. In this case, purchasing a hemi equipped Jeep that is registered out of state may work to your advantage. The key thing is that it has to be CARB compliant (California Air Resources Board). If the Jeep isn't already CARB certified, then you would need to get an emissions test and have your Jeep looked at by a CARB certified inspector. I'd call Jeep Speed Shop or All-J-Products and see if they could shed any light on what needs to be done. AEV has surely sold turnkey hemi Jeeps to California residents, so maybe someone there could provide some insight.

I doubt AEV has sold NEW turnkey hemis to California residents who registered the Jeep in California.
