Muscle truck build!!! as cool at the v10 is I'd rather see the 6.4 with a 5 speed auto, but I'd really love to see another one ton on 40s build.

Will, good thought but I can tell you, it won't be on 40's...

This will be a Brute that I want to drive around and even 37's on a TJ/Brute setup is about as max as I'd go. I've driven that orange Brute with 40's and it isn't for me...

Ben

PS: Let's build you one though.

I'm already in line for the new Cummins 2.8, advance adapters has all the parts to make it happen and with the common rail architecture it's programmable with real world values closer to 250hp/400lbs torque. Should be a badass little brute motor. First quarter 2017 $12kish if I remember correctly

Default LS in a brute

Ben,

I have a LS with the 4l60E trans in my brute with 37's and 4:56's. works great and lots of parts out there for that swap. I have run the same setup in a CJ for 10 years without an issue. The issue in a brute is the gauges. You can make the stock ones work but that means your running two computers.

Thanks and that is good info! I actually really want to run the Auto Meter TJ gauge pod, with C2 gauges. I do like the LS, I'm just having an issue with "branding".

Thanks for the info, Ben

a recent issue of Jp magazine has an article on a TJ w/ LS swap (I think) and they used some custom gauges that replaces the stock ones. Ill look for it tonight.

Update - I think it was the auto meter pod - duh

Yep, I've got that issue. Auto Meter makes a TJ garage panel now that is nice looking.

What about the 6.4 truck motor. All the low end grunt and cheaper than an SRT 6.4 in the junkyards.

Default Speedhut gauges

I used the autometer dash insert with speed hut gauges. Speed is GPS driven. I agree on branding, but Jeep did not build a Brute. Its already a mix breed.
