one reason why i never put that light bar on my LJ. just didn't think the brackets would work nicely. Hopefully you can mod yours to come out pretty nice. cant wait to see more pictures.

                  Nice! Planning on extended trips?

I plan on bascially refining everything I had issues with on my old LJ. Like the CJ tailgate -Ill make a swingout version so I can retain the hardtop. A real AEV highline, an axle swap, more fuel capacity, ect. Im making more of a camping/expedition jeep rather than a rock crawler which is what the old LJ was being built for. I wont be running beadlocks either -after having 2 sets of them I think they are overrated for a DD.

fuel tank is the best mod. i used to get close to 450 mile range with my hemi lj towing a 1500 lb trailer through the US. certainly beats having to stop every 230 miles or so

I did 10,000 miles across the country in my LJ and these are my suggestions

                              1. Lizard skin sound insulation
                              2. Line -X
                              3. Keep the carpet
                              4. Ditch the mud terrains for quality all terrains
                              5. Invest in quality rear drawers (adventure trailers make great sets for LJ's). Will allow you to have secure lockable storage
                              6. Wire up ADventure Trailers interior flush mount 4" led light. Switchable from red to white to keep night vision intact
                              7. If your running a hardtop lizard skin and line -x it as well. This will keep interior temps down, allow AC to work easier and keep noise out

LJ's are awesome jeeps and are great to take on long trips. More storage, smoother ride, classic looks. Not sure what your planning suspension wise but I'd go with quality control arms that keep actory bushings. Ride will be much nicer, quiter, and smoother.
