Not sure if it's the same Ram but I saw this gem at the dealership this morning while getting an oil change. I almost left with it.

Looks like the same one to me. Out of curiousity was it for sale or just happened to be there?

Default New from AEV - The RECRUIT

It is owned by AEV. The dealership wouldn't open it or lest me test drive. I am trying to get in touch with the local representative to be able to drive it. Deciding between this and a Prospector XL. I have a few messages floating around the interwebs to get to the right person.

i wish they would make a 20" wheel for the 8 lug, the big 17" tires just dont balance for SHAT and for those of us that are street only it would be awesome

I ended up driving the Recruit today. I was wanting a Prospector XL (I get tire envy) but at the end of the day I think that I will be going with the Recruit here in a few months. We are building a house (yes it will have 8' garage doors just for my Jeep and this truck) and I need something that I can haul materials to finish the basement, landscaping, etc... with, all while being a family vehicle. From a daily driveability stance it is tough to beat. It gets decent gas mileage with the diesel, quite, and comfortable. All of this while more capable of most anything I would throw at it since I have the JK.

I could see this being a vehicle that I would drive to Montana, and explore all the mountain back roads on, and drive home. I will save the trail pin striping, rock crawling, front and rear locked stuff for the JK.

What kind of MPG was the ecodiesel showing? It may be one of the few ecodiesel recruits that hit the market from what I hear.

I didn't even look to see what the dash showed. This one only had 1,600 miles on it so it wasn't even broken in yet.

.

Thanks for the update/review.

Agreed, this set-up seems to make an excellent DD.
