Default Diesel Power Products #UA17 AEV Project Howitzer

Exactly only cooler. Diesel, 42's, 500-600 hp, and Ram Box bed not modified dually bedsides. Howie will be fully functioning on the trails in Moab during Easter Jeep Safari.

Well today we got around to getting some of the engine mods done, as well as some of the chassis things. Engine mods list so far is a BD emissions compliant exhaust manifold with Screamer modified VGT, BD 12mm CP3 pump, AFE Intake manifold, ARP headstuds, Hamilton 178/208 dpf camshaft with Valve Springs, Dynomite Diesel Balanced 90hp injectors, Fleece distribution block, FASS 150 transfer pump and sump. There are more engine mods to come but we are waiting on the Brown truck to show up with them. Chassis mods were solid cab mounts so there is no flex between the cab and the roll cage so it won't tear things apart, and welding up of the PSC hydraulic assist ram mount so we can turn those big tires with minimal strain. Other supports added to the vehicle are BD steering box brace and a PSC steering box with ports for the ram assist.

I was in their shop on Wednesday picking up some new take off jk driveshafts and holy crap is that place amazing.

You walk in and you are like this is not diesel place this is a fine restaurant/hotel lobby. Its freaking amazing. The worst part of going back to their shop is you realize it sucks being poor LOL. The second worst part is your realize how small 35's are and how good 40's would look. I saw more 40-42's floating around back there.

Very cool indeed.

Thanks Jeff, I remember you coming in. I was the one elbow deep in the Mega Cab XL truck doing some engine work. We are pretty proud of newer location and definitely want it to be an experience when customers visit. Hope those JK parts worked out for you and our motto here is 40's are the new 35. LOL.

Did you guys not use the AEV hydraulic assist kit for this build? If you didn't, why not?
I've been wanting to add a hydro assist to my truck with 37s. Are there any cons to installing it on a daily driver?

We run hydraulic assist on everything whether it be 37's or 40's it is the way to go. Completely takes any weird steering miscues out of the wheel like massive potholes or anything. I didn't know AEV were even doing a hydro assist kit and we have run PSC on everything. If your wonder if it is worth it, I guarantee that you will want it on everything after having it on one truck.
