Hopefully you will leave the thong at home this time.

The thought of Panhead in a thong is going to take awhile to get out of my head For anyone interested, the Dusy Ershim is a fantastic trail.

Stay away from that tree. It looks like the easier line, but the rocks will slide your Jeep right into it.

It's been two years, but I believe that tree is in the middle of a bend on Thompson hill. In any event, its a steep section with large boulders. Since you will be going downhill, it should be easier for you and Panhead to avoid. The tree is totally dead and is missing a lot of its bark as you can see in the picture. Keep it on your driver side and go far right and you should be fine. The two pictures with the blue Jeep are at the North end gatekeeper. You'll hit that spot about a quarter mile in. It was a bitch going down and should be even more challenging going up. If you can make it past there, then you should be able to make it past any of the other obstacles. Did I mention that there are a lot of obstacles. Wish I could join you, but I just got back from a 2,300 mile trip to Oregon. Have a great time.

Note: The last picture shows the sign at the North end of the trail.

I figure with panhead going I could sell tickets just so people could see him in his speedo.

Have been wondering how your trip went. Now that you've run it, what do you think of the Dusy Ershim trail? How many rocks and trees did Panhead manage to hit? More pictures please. Just leave out the ones of Panhead in a speedo

I'll get more on, I'm still on the road but when I get home and organized I'll post a bunch. It's a tough ho that's for sure no damage was accrued lucky. I think it is a tougher trail than the Rubicon because you don't catch a break for the full 33 miles. Did not see many rigs in 3 days a few Toyotas camped near us at ershim lake and 4 or 5 jeeps who camped near us at Thompson lake. Met two jeeps coming out who had only went in a short distance and at the end met 3 going in. No tools needed other than my jack to raise up my front end when my wife and Bob spotted me right on a big rock lol. Was like a turtle both claimed they did not see it and it was the size of a very bug. Both ershim and Thompson were definitely not swimming lakes so Bob did not sport the speedo lol
