      Beware Manassas Jeep Service

I rolled in to the Manassas Jeep dealership to get a serious case of "death wobble" fixed. I emphasized in both writing and on the phone that I didn't want the Jeep back until the problem was fixed. I didn't rush them on the job, I even told them to keep it as long as needed to ensure the job was done, and done right. So when their service tech called me to say it was ready, after assuring me that it had been completely fixed, I took him at his word. However, despite spending $800 on parts to be replaced, some under warranty, the Jeep is exactly the same today as it was when I first brought it to them.

I understand that some problems can be tough to diagnose, but I sought a received special assurances from them that they had ensured this problem was absolutely fixed, and yet, they had fixed nothing. The death wobble is easily reproduced whenever hitting a strong bump at or above 40MPH, sometimes even less. And it threatens to shake apart the entire front end. When I called to ask why they couldn't follow through with some quality control over their own work, the service advisor, Kyrin, made the kind of excuses 6th graders do when explaining why they failed a test they were supposed to prepare for- whining sounds like "but we did _____"... all the while failing to take ownership of the fact that whatever measures they took were totally ineffective at making sure they'd found the problem. He even had the audacity to tell me that the Jeep was driving "100% better". I don't know what kind of f'd up dealership math they use at Manassas Jeep, but 0% fixed = 0% better.

The fact that they didn't fix the death wobble is one thing; the fact that they defensively made excuses about why they didn't fix it when they had all the time they needed and I never balked at a single expense/job they recommended, is downright pathetic performance, and unethical, to say the least. They get an F- from me. One of the worst dealership experiences I've had. And, being an AEV shop, working on AEV parts, I expect better of them. So goes the hard won lesson. Manassas Jeep Service Department can't be trusted to get the job done, or take responsibility for their utter failings after the fact.

On another practical note, their failure at follow-through is the reason I'm stuck in town this weekend.

The main problem with them is that they were bought out last fall by Lindsay Auto Group, and since then many of the good people there have departed or been asked to depart. The quality has gone down from the things I hear from multiple sources. Several of the good folks from parts and service have landed at Safford of Warrenton and I have taken as much of my business there as I can. Now if they could just get AEV to leave Manassas Jeep behind and move to Safford, that would be great. AEV, are you listening to this...

Northwest's newest AEV Dealership - Don K. CDJR, Whitefish, MT.

I am very excited to announce that Don K. CDJR is Montana's newest certified AEV dealership with Jeep and Ram vehicles in stock, as well as a full lineup of parts and accessories available! We also have our own up-fit department with trained techs so we can service or install any AEV parts purchased.

Let me take a quick minute to introduce myself. My name is Aaron Farris, Jeep and Ram truck sales consultant for Don K. located in Whitefish, MT.

Don "K" Whitefish has been a reputed dealer in the Flathead Valley since 1990 and was pleased to acquire the Chrysler Dodge Jeep and RAM franchises in February of 2011. We are also locally owned and very much community involved. So come on in and see why we are the Flathead Valley's fastest growing dealership.

I started selling Jeeps back in the late 90's and have now been involved in the vehicle retail industry for 20 years. Having a broad base of experience in both On & Off-road performance vehicles, I would be happy to help you find or build the AEV Jeep or Ram of your choice.

Please feel free to contact me personally if there is anything I can do for you.
