  • 2015-050 Prospector 2500 5.7Hemi Tradesman/Crew Cab

In preparation of the pre-order release of the AEV Traybed Prospectors, and conveniently just in time for Christmas I am putting my 2015 AEV Prospector up for sale. This Prospector is located in Panama City, Florida, with clear Florida Title in hand, but can be delivered nationwide for an additional cost. This Prospector has been well taken care of and I’m offering it for sale because I intend to purchase an AEV Traybed Prospector upon their release.

"AEV Traybed Prospectors" wasn't that a SEMA one-off only build?

Originally yes I believe that was the idea, however earlier this year Dave H. let on that a production Traybed Prospector was in the works. The project got sidelined with the XL release and the AEV HQ move, but according to Jeff Clark at AEV they are doing a limited run of 10 AEV Traybed Prospectors based on the original one off SEMA truck that Dave H. has. This project is now set to launch first quarter.

I think that is big news. What dealer are you ordering yours through?

AEV has not finalized the ordering logistics yet, so not sure if the Traybeds will only be available directly from AEV, all AEV dealers, or AEV Ram dealers only. My JK-350 came from Cross Jeep in Kentucky and the Prospector that replaced it came from New Carlisle Ram in Ohio.

Brietz6869: I tried to reply to your PM but it says you aren't set up to receive PMs....so; Truck is still for sale. Right now I have it listed privately, since I have title in hand and am planning on ordering an AEV tray bed after the first of the year. I've done some business with Cross Jeep in Kentucky, Chris Madison is their Jeep guy (he's on the forum), if you wanted to reach out to him, I also have his email, I'm sure he might be willing to buy my truck and take your GC in on trade on my truck since he could get my AEV order also that way.

Also, including a secondary mounting option for the spare at no additional cost: Wilco offroad Hitchgate. These run $878. This will give the new owner the option to utilize the AEV spare mounting ratchet strap that was adapted to accommodate the Decked Trac Racks or move the spare to the hitchgate to maximize cargo capacity under the camper shell or to free up the top of the Decked drawers for use as a sleeping platform.

Photos are only for demonstrative purposes to show the Hitchgate and how it mounts (this black Ram is NOT the Prospector for sale)

Hitchgate is no longer available or included with truck. Still available, but if not sold by Thursday it will be going to Cross Jeep in Louisville, KY on trade for the LJ project they've built for me.
