  • HSS Next Brute build???

    Ok guys and dolls,
I am ready to build a new AEV TJ Brute. So what would you rather see?

    A. SUPER low mileage mint Rubicon Brute?
    B. A SUPER clean Rubicon R2.8 Cummins Brute?

    And second question.

    A. With a AEV Highline kit?
    B. Or more of a stock look?

And I'll throw out one last question; Color?

I'm open to other thoughts or suggestions. Not guaranteeing that I'll go with any of your crazy suggestions, but I'll listen...

    Thanks, Ben

Highline always looks nice. Gobi would make a neat color for a Brute

      My do over would be:
      rubicon tj base
      2.8 cummins
      automatic
      stock front clip
33” - 34” narrow tires on steel military style wheels
      desert tan
      basicly old school looks

Hmmm Is this your last kit? I think for the Price the Cummins is overrated Yeah good mileage but in the end not worth the coin to convert for that money speed is king and I know YOU don't like to go slow!!! Banks Turbo and Factory 6 is sufficient for a TJ . I'd say stockfish build someone can enjoy. SA Kit/non-hiline hood and even some old skool steelies on some Skinnys. I think now less is more on a TJ but you are form Florida where More is not enough on a Jeep!!! HA

            Pete, well said... Well said.

Yes, I agree. I also think somewhat less is more. My red "stocker Brute" and my white Rubicon Brute were really two of my favorites. Stand by.

            Ben

PS: And last kit? hmmmmmm.... Let me "think" about that... Hmmmmmmm....

Drivability: I would suggest driving the cummins diesel before drawing deep conclusions. With the proper gearing & transmission they are better in performance then the stock 6 cyl (imho after 18 months of use)
Noise. Yep they are a diesel and while you can knock it down with good insulation they still vibrate and are throaty.

Cost:. Make sure to compare new to new, the r2.8 crate motor can be had for $7700 that easily compares to a new V8, conversion “kits” can run as high as $9800 + $2300 for AC BUT there are alternatives to a high dollar turn key solution that can reduce cost almost in half one just has to do the digging up on the parts

the best comparison i can offer is to compare a P51 vs an F 16. The P51 is a pilots plane (per Bob Hover)you have to fly it with direct input while an F16 has is super modern requiring small inputs to do its job, the feeling is so different
the r2.8 diesel / manual brute is a drivers truck and is best for that long steady distance ...one could say “expedition ”, though now a days even ford claims that
But if you like to romp and stomp, burn some rubber then thats the V8’s world

anyone thats wants to drive a cummins brute is more then welcome to come drive mine

                  cheers

I'll own (3) Brute's once this one is built and so ONE has to go. I'll probably be selling this new red one or "possibly" my orange 570 Brute. My email is: [email protected] if you want to stay in touch.

                      Cheers!

I have seen the super low mileage TJ. It’s show room clean. Mileage wise it’s the lowest I have seen in years.
