Correct. That is still the targeted release date for the Borah wheel.

        Hi Chris,

Will you be making the non-beadlocks also in matte black, like the Salta's?

        Thx!

We do not have a plan to offer a matte black finish. We are exploring another black finish for the Borah but it will not be matte/flat.

Hmm, another black finish, that can only be more shiny...

Thank you for your quick feedback!

Because then you wouldn't be able to sheer them off on the rocks ! The more I see how far the bolts stick out the more I can't believe that won't cause problems.

Would it be possible to get more info on the finish? If this black finish is quite nice I will wait with my new wheel order. Sure would understand if you do not like to share anything right now until you guys finalized!
                Thank you!

The ring forging needs to be a certain thickness under the bolt head, so in order to countersink the bolts you would need to make the ring thicker, heavier, and more expensive. Instead, we went with a bespoke 50mm bolt, that is a grade 10.9 hardness, has a very long shoulder on it to make sure that there are no threads in the shear area between the ring and the wheel which causes stress risers and allows us to get the increased torque that we were looking for. I don't think grinding the bolts on rocks will be much of an issue at all.

As for the black, we wanted to show off the Borah wheel and a flat black didn't really look as good as should have, so we went with a slightly metallic gloss black, not sure how far out those are though, I think it'll be a while.

I got my new Borah's a few days ago. Had them color matched first and thought some of you might want to see. They were very easy to mount with just some hand tools. So much better than our first beadlocks, very high quality wheel.

Dave, did someone in town do the powder coat or paint? I would kind of l like to do that with my Saltas, they look great and photos don't really do it justice.

Hey Dave, looking at building a rack for my Brute. How is your's attached to the bed? What did you do to add strength at the attachment point? A picture, pointer or both would be great. Thanks
