  • 2.5" coils vs 3.5" free length?

I freaking forgot to measure my aev 2.5 free coil length before installing on my 16 2 door rubicon. I just got back from Moab and was extremely disappointed in the lack of front droop I had a front wheel off the ground all the time. It was like I was not disconnected. At first I thought my elect disco was not working and I have jks flex links so I just manually disconnected and still the same.

My buddy (Montanabowhunter or Mark to panhead) has the 3.5 RS kit on his 2 door and never lifted a tire on the same stuff, He did however pop a front coil out of place on the golden crack. I barely drooped down in the crack instead my tires were just off the ground lol.

If the 2.5" coils free length is long enough or close to as long as the 3.5 free length I would just swap to a bit longer shock. I also noticed the rear tires did not want to stuff at all it was like there was no uptravel.

I am spoiled I am used to a flexing Rock Krawler lift on a 4 door.

Just lidding but it sounds like you need to find the coil spring free length and go with a longer shock. That or call Metal Cloak !!!!!!

After spending a week on the trails with my buddy who had the 3.5" metal cloak game changer I would just do another franken lift before I would go MC, it was nice but nothing special. My other buddy had my old franken lift to a tee and he loved it and did everything just as easy for 1/2 the money.

I just need to find the difference in free length between the 2.5 coils and 3.5 coils and go from there.
