    If so how tall is your rig from the top of the rack to the ground? Can I get it in the garage??? 81" openning on my garage....

    I am going to guess with the added height of the gobi rack you will probably not fit. This is based on the AEV Roof Rack thread and what people have measured there. You might want to take a look and verify that to understand the difference between the gobi and the AEV.

        Does anyone know if the same conflict applies if you are only running the tire carrier with stock bumper?

          No conflict. The issue was with the Gobi bracket and the AEV bumper, not the tire carrier or spindle. Rack works fine with stock or Mopar off-road bumpers equipped with AEV tire carrier. I know because I have this set up.

            I am leaning towards this Gobi setup for a new build. I really think the dual ladders in the back, help offset the "angled" rear bars, that I don't think look very good. So, I'd for sure go with dual ladders. Is the Gobi rack "textured" finish or smooth black?

            Thanks, Ben

              BK08= slight texture.

              the dual ladders work well.

                    I would also add the AEV corner guards. The GOBi plates twist since they are put on with 3M tape. Once you start wheeling that truck X days in the hot sun, they twist. The AEV corner guards also give you a much more solid base.

                        I know this is an old thread, but we did develop with GOBI a weld on bracket that works great with the AEV corner guards. Here are some photos. Being now that the rack only flexes with the body, it has worked out well for us especially with heavier loads up top.

                          Ben,

                          Do you fabricate these brackets for sale? If so, do you provide AEV Corner Guards with the Gobi brackets welded to the Corner Guards?

                          Thanks,
                          Robert

                            Robert, no we got Gobi to build these and they now offer them as a option with AEV Corner Guards. Give Gobi a call and asked for Paul.
