Well we are taking on Petersen's 4 Wheel and Offroad's Ultimate Adventure again for our 6th year in a row. This year is by far the most excited we have been about it because we are getting back to our roots with a Diesel Powered Ram 2500. With some help from AEV we should be able to achieve our goal this year of driving our vehicle to the start, living out of our vehicle wheeling for the week, and driving home with one vehicle. Anyone who isn't familiar with the Ultimate Adventure, it is an event that has been put on by the magazine since 1999 and was has been known for it's unrealistic time frames and brutal (jeep sized) trails. As with every year we aren't given any of the info about the event until 2 weeks prior to the start. At that point we are only given the starting location. They have simple rules, #1 No Whining, #2 Follow the vehicle in front of you while also keeping track of the vehicle behind you so you don't lose anyone, and #3 Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate. This last year was brutal on #3 since we started the week off in Death Valley and it hit 128* while we were on the trail. Our goal this year is simple take a Ram 2500 diesel, but to do this we are going to be leaning on what we have learned over the last 5 years as well as some of the knowledge of our friends in the industry. With that, I will be documenting stages of the build here, our goal is to be done with the major portion of it by the end of this month and getting some wheel time in with it. Here are some early phase pics.

Stock, 2016 Ram 2500 SLT Reg cab automatic. We are also jumping into the performance side of things but keeping it emissions compliant. We are looking to get between 500 and 600 rwhp.

Well we have a total I believe of 61 Miles on the truck. Time to start working on the length. We are going to turn it into a Reg Short Box and have picked up a Ram Box bed for it. Can't wait to get this sucker on the trail.

I have always wanted to do a 2500 crew cab with a 5.5 foot bed and I've never understood why they don't make one.

Glad to hear the UA is continuing on. I look forward to it each year but with no official UA build last year and lack luster coverage I was afraid it was on its last leg.

It is far from going away. There was a changing of the guard and Rick Pewe went on to JP Magazine handing the reigns to his baby over to Christian Hazel. He fully embraced the opportunity and we got to hit some epic trails last year. I'm sure this year will surpass since he will have more then 2 months to prepare for it. And to clarify we have the 6'4" bed which puts us at 121" wheelbase. This should be pretty ridiculous considering the tires we are going to be running.

The frame is back together and we got the beadlocks mounted up. Going to be a lot of traction. 42" street compound Trepador Bias ply. Sitting on it's own weight. Next will be all the suspension. So much easier without the body and bed on.

Today we are taking the time to clean up the way too long factory wiring harness on the frame and make it fit the short bed. While we are at it we are also adding in the wiring for our FASS performance fuel pump, and running wires for all the lighting that we will have. It is all heat wrapped around the exhaust side and tesa taped to look just like factory. the wire shortening was all soldered together and shrink taped as well. The traction aids showed up today as well, and we are taking the time with the cab off to do some transmission upgrades. We are installing a billet input shaft, BD enhanced stall torque converter, BD billet flex plate, and to maximize the pressure increases from the transmission tuning we are adding a BD valve body separator plate. Rounding off the trans is a deep pan for extra capacity.
