  • Looking for new leather TJ Brute seats/where to find?

Does ANYONE have a set or contact for a set of AEV TJ/Brute seats? I'm sure that's a rhetorical question... Honestly not sure I even like those old seats.. Better question would be new gladiator AEV/ OR at least tan leather rubicon seats? I've looked for the past year for tan leather rubicon seats , zero results! I really would like to update this truck, it actually has absolutely perfect stock Tan seats in it. But leather or new is what it needs.. any leads on something to spice it up would be greatly appreciated. You can private message me, I'm not interested in a bidding war.. Just want some new seats for a old brute.. Not interested in the cheap replacement seats..

The TJ Brute “AEV” were Recaro XL’s. The AEV emblems were just stitched in them. The seats are still available from Recaro I think. They are a tight fit but will work. These seats were OEM in BMW’s and VW’s mid 2000s. You can some times find a deal on eBay or a salvage yard. New I believe the seats run $1,000 apiece from Recaro. I had these seats in my 570 TJ and they were great. I did a 1,700 mile one way trip in them. It was a one and a half day drive with no back problems just saying.

They do look a tad big, and looky pretty comfortable. If I found actual ones that said AEV would be cool, but probably better options to go through that trouble.. Weirdly every oem tan gladiator seat has ended up to a scam site/yard somewhere.. its strange. I havent searched LKQ for seats tho, maybe I will look that direction. The ebay seats , if you notice ,10 people have the same pic, and ones I've emailed never responded. Recaro LS ,I think is the one that would be perfect.. but yet to see any in the states ,let alone WV.. Surely there has to be a source for something out there. I have seen alot of JK stuff, but arent they alot bigger?

Well, since there was so much interest in this post.. I figured I would add a update. If nothing else maybe some online record of this Brute... these 22 Rubicon seats I think are perfect. , stock, beautiful, not a unmatched aftermarket, and most of all affordable.

On another note what a lively forum this is. The amount of comments, suggestions, and just good ol discussion is uncanny!! Bravo men ! SMH

Those seats are going to look great. Were you able to just bolt the TJ sliders to them?

LSRMike Ha... the simple life... that would be a negative ghost rider... they are about 4 1/2" wider at the risers.. Also the new seats have the raise and lower lever which threw the whole plan off... that means the track works on a slide rail for the front lift "legs" to slide back and forth.. extra PIA... then when I got to the passenger side , I totally forgot about the janky scissor flip up riser mounts.. So ,it all went to trash.. Pulled the original TJ risers, (wanted to keep stock looking as I could) went ahead and made brackets to move back 3", started over with 1/4" thick floor risers/adjustable and bent 3/16 angle mount plates... carefully cut the JT legs off the tracks, ( They are made from RAIL ROAD track BTW) So ,I have flat mounting surface with front to back / & up and down adjustments... setting on a road sign for now.. lol, but getting a water jet mounting plate cut out for actual bolt down.. Tools required, torch/beers/cutting wheels/ more

                  Ben,
I see someone has availability to the super elite stash of goods..lol Those seats are super cool for the originality of them, and sure they are more than comfortable... But, they remind me of the outrageously huge captains chairs they used to put in the old travel vans in late 80's..The seats I wanted weren't on this side of the pond. I wasn't paying international shipping. So, I settled for the junkyard 500, probably better decision in the long run. Plus , hell I can splurge on some custom head rest now... lol

Really if you wanted to.. get a another set pf drivers side TJ mounts. Put them on the passenger side.. Cut legs off the New seat, the new track has holes in the bottom, bolt up through TJ mount , a 3/16 plate (4" front of track /and back section) and put the nut in center of track and crank em down.. similar to this pic, thats what I did for measurements, etc.. getting in and out seeing if it even worked. Honestly, I could of down that and been finished.. But , ya know.. that garage time keeps a man sane...

TBartley Nice information to have. Will have to give it some consideration. I do have a habit of going overboard.
