  • Dave: Fitting Recaro seats in a TJ

    Hey Dave + others

I found my local Recaro Agency here in UAE and sat in these seats:

They are every bit as comfortable as they look

Did you have to do any special tricks to fit them between the roll cage and the center console?

Nope, they fit fine. You'll need to get the adapter brackets from Recaro.

And by the way... when you took that Jeep down into the warmer climates... any regrets having leather?

My options are cloth, leather, or leather + alcantara.

I'm thinking the alcantara might not burn too bad... I'm gonna ask them for a A4 page sized material swatch or something from some off-cuttings to keep in the car and see how it copes, and also see how it looks when sand gets to it.

Wait til you see what I'm planning to go with it all

Another QU - you appear to have a plastic trim panel on the sides - is this supplied with the seats? Most pictures I've seen online are without that.

this upgrade is on my shortlist of to-dos (will be selling some Mastercraft Bajas and brackets).

Lucky have you already sourced the brackets for the Recaro's?
